Industrial Control Solutions Company is a manufacturer of Glass Fiber Reinforce Polymer (GFRP) rebars in Saudi Arabia. In partnership with Dextra, one of the most recognized manufacturer of innovative concrete reinforcement solutions ICSC is the first manufacturer operating in Saudi Arabia and approved by Aramco.

ASTEC GFRP Rebar is a pultruded profile available in all standard diameters and lengths, in straight lengths and bend shapes. Several grades of tensile strengths and moduli of elasticity allow structural engineers to perform their design without restrictions while introducing the many benefits of non-metallic reinforcing bars (corrosion resistance, weight, electrical and thermal insulation…). ASTEC GFRP Rebar can be used for both new constructions and for structural repairs and strengthening.

ClientJizan Flood Mitigation Channel
About ProjectJizan Flood Mitigation Channel is an under-construction infrastructure project in Jizan Economic City, Saudi Arabia. Being located on the coastline, the city faces the risk of floods due to the frequent torrential rainfalls. The flood channel plays the important role of protecting these downstream areas from major flood damage. The channel will be exposed to seawater and water environmental contaminants that can influence the corrosion of steel: for this reason, Dextra ASTEC glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) rebar was the perfect solution for the project. Almost 2 million meters of the GFRP rebar were delivered. ASTEC GFRP rebar is a corrosive-free non-metallic reinforcing bar that provides higher tensile strength than steel while being lighter in weight. Upon its completion, the project will be the world’s largest construction using GFRP rebars as its concrete reinforcement.
ClientSeaWorld Abu Dhabi
About ProjectSeaWorld Abu Dhabi is an under-construction marine life theme park and animal research, rescue and rehabilitation center, planned to open in 2022 on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It will be the first SeaWorld park outside of the US, under a license from SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment. The Abu Dhabi-based company Miral is the owner and operator of the project. Dextra have supplied 400,000 Bartec couplers for the connection and reinforcement of columns, beams, and slabs. Moreover, 20,000 linear meters of cuttable GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforcement Polymer) rebar have also been installed in the overlay slabs of the swimming pools, replacing steel rebars as the product of choice. Thanks to its durability and corrosion-free nature, GFRP is an ideal material when the concrete structure is surrounded by water.
ClientKing Salman Energy Park (SPARK)
About ProjectKing Salman Energy Park (SPARK) is a new industrial city project being constructed and located between Dammam and Al-Ahsa in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. The project aims to respond to the ever-growing demand for energy related products and services of the country, including exploration, production, refining, petrochemicals, conventional power, water production and treatment, and drilling. By the completion of the first phase in 2021, SPARK will be divided into 5 main zones which are industrial zone, dry port and logistics zone, business district, training centers and residential compounds, and commercial activities. Dextra supplied around 700,000 ASTEC GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer) rebars, model GR45P in straight and bending shape, for buildings and sidewalks. ASTEC GFRP GR45P rebar provides modulus elasticity at 45GPa and tensile strengths as per ASTM 7205 - 06. It can be used as strengthening material for both new and existing constructions. Upon the expected completion of the 3rd phase in 2035, it will occupy 50 square kilometers and is anticipated to create 100,000 jobs.
